Spinach and Sun-Dried Tomato Frittata
This Self recipe is a Sunday morning favorite. Why go to brunch when you can make this frittata at home?
Ingredients
Vegetable oil cooking spray
2 teaspoons olive oil
1 small shallot, chopped
1 cup packed fresh spinach, chopped
4 whole eggs
4 egg whites (note: we use 7 whole eggs)
8 sun-dried tomato halves, chopped
1/2 cup grated Asiago cheese (note: we use Parmesan)
2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Preparation
Heat oven to 425. Coat round pie plate with cooking spray. Set aside. Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat. Cook shallot until soft but not brown, 2 to 3 minutes. Add spinach; cook 2 to 3 minutes. Remove from heat. Lightly whisk eggs and egg whites in a bowl. Stir in sun-dried tomatoes, cheese, basil, spinach mixture, salt and pepper. Pour into baking dish. Bake until firm in the center, 12 to 14 minutes.

"Our chicken is absolutely amazing," said waiter Fahad Malik, 20. "We use our own spices, and people love it." Entrées are $10 to $13.

Triple Z Chinese Food, 1410 Ave. U: A local favorite of straphangers longing for authentic Chinese barbecue.
"The barbecue hanging in the window gets me every time," said John Hsia, 27, who lives around the corner in the predominantly Asian neighborhood or Homecrest.
"When someone opens the doors, you can even smell it. It's great."
Along with traditional Chinese favorites like barbecue duck and roast pork, Triple Z's more popular menu items include fried tofu with fish filet and pork chops with onions. Entrées are $8 to $12.

Restaurant closed after dead deer found in kitchen - Yahoo! News
HAMBURG, N.Y. – Health officials shut down a suburban Buffalo restaurant after an inspector found employees butchering a dead deer inside the business. Erie County Health Department officials said they got a tip Friday about a dead deer in the China King restaurant in the town of Hamburg, just south of Buffalo.
An inspector soon arrived and saw the deer being butchered in the kitchen.
State health laws prohibit butchering an animal inside a restaurant.
Officials don't know whether the deer had been killed by a hunter or a vehicle. They said there was no indication the deer meat was served to any customers.
The message on the restaurant's answering machine Monday says it was closed because of "family emergencies."

He sentenced the defendants to time already served -- in Sharpton's case, five hours -- and ordered each to pay a court surcharge of $95."I am of course sympathetic to the underlying issues which gave rise to the protests and demonstrations on May 7," Stephen said. He said he believed the demonstrators acted for reasons of conscience but they broke the law."If you decide to take a bullet for the team, you should not complain about the consequences that flow from that," the judge said.
